Designed to amaze
The circular dial is filled with a luminous pigment (BGW9 Swiss Superluminova) that represents the solar corona formed during an eclipse. During the event, the solar corona is the only element of brightness, as darkness fills the entire sky inside and outside the edge of the sun.
Although the 1919 eclipse is one of the most famous of all time, eclipses have always been admired as sensational events.
Ek 1919 presents itself with a minimal design inspired by the strength and majesty of eclipses, as a whole, with a perfect recognisability of the idea in all its components.
Designed and assembled in Italy, at our watchmaking laboratory in Modica, each Ek 1919 is checked in every single component.
